What "research-use-only" means

Every Ledger Bioscience product is sold strictly for in vitro laboratory research and analytical use only. The products are not drugs, foods, cosmetics, dietary supplements, or medical devices, and are not intended for use in or on humans or animals.

Specifically, our products are not:

  1. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), Health Canada, the MHRA, the TGA, or any other regulatory body, for use in humans or animals.
  2. Intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease, condition, or symptom, in humans or animals.
  3. Manufactured under Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations applicable to drugs intended for human or veterinary use.
  4. Sterile or pyrogen-free unless specifically labeled as such on the certificate of analysis (and even then, sterility is verified for laboratory analytical purposes only).

What buyers represent and warrant when ordering

By placing an order with Ledger Bioscience you represent and warrant the following, as a condition of sale:

  1. Age. You are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (and at least 21 years of age if you are in the United States).
  2. Purpose. You are acquiring the product solely for in vitro laboratory research, analytical reference, or assay development, in a setting with appropriate laboratory infrastructure and qualified personnel.
  3. Non-administration. You will not administer the product to yourself, any other human, or any animal, and you will not provide it to any third party who will do so.
  4. Compliance. You will comply with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws governing the possession, handling, storage, and disposal of research chemicals in your jurisdiction.
  5. No unlicensed redistribution. You will not relabel, repackage, or redistribute the product to third parties for human or veterinary administration, or in any way that misrepresents its research-use-only status.

What we will not do

Ledger Bioscience will not, under any circumstances:

  1. Make claims that any product treats, cures, mitigates, or prevents any disease or condition.
  2. Recommend dosages, administration routes, or protocols for human or veterinary use.
  3. Provide medical, veterinary, or pharmacological advice.
  4. Knowingly accept orders from individuals who indicate intent to use the product for purposes outside the research-use-only scope.
  5. Misrepresent the purity, identity, or origin of any product on a certificate of analysis or product page.

Why this language matters to us

The research peptide category exists in a regulatory space where many vendors blur the line between "for research" and "for use." We do not. Our entire brand is built on the premise that a research compound is a research compound, with documentation appropriate for that scope, and nothing more. The RUO disclosure is the load-bearing structural element of the business — not a footer disclaimer.

If you are looking for a product to use on yourself, an animal, or another person — Ledger Bioscience is not the supplier you need. We will not sell to you, and the rest of the category that operates outside the RUO scope is not aligned with our values.
